Someone Like Him
This photographic series is a documentation shown as triptychs; this project explores the objectivity of my relationship with my father through through engaging with him around specific objects he gave me when I moved to the United States. The similarities & differences between my perspective and his perspective create a unique bond between the both of us, united by the object inherited to me. The text both my father and I wrote is a disconnection around an object we both have experienced differently and are trying to find connection through.
My story is one of many stories in the world about how father-son relationships can be very complex. Many sons who have issues with their fathers live in separate places, either because of profession or some family issues. Which raises a question, isa relationship of a father and son really important? What makes a father and son relationship difficult?
